The people that live in the school district/are are mainly Latin American. The is filled with mainly delinquent students. Mr. Escalante's teaching style is more hands on and sometimes seems unorthodox. He uses visual examples when doing problems. One example is when he was teaching the class about fractions, he used an apple as an example by cutting them into different portions and distributing them throughout the class, then asked them how much of an apple each had. This is also an example of good teaching.
